Limantour Spit is one of my favorite places to go looking for shorebirds. With Drake's Bay and the waters of the Pacific Ocean on one side, and Drake's Estero on the other side, shorebirds of all kinds flock here to find a meal. It has beautiful views of the sandstone cliffs near Drake's Beach as well, which light up brilliantly at sunrise.
