This image is from one of my first encounters with a marbled godwit (Limosa fedoa) soon after I became interested in taking wlidlife photos. I spent a lot of time crawling in the sand with this single bird along the beach, and was rewarded with an extended and up-close encounter. In this image she stands on tip-toes for a moment as she paused mid-stride. Image taken at Kehoe Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, California.
