Sanderling on a cold morning, Parker River NWR
From a cold Friday morning in November spent with some shorebirds. It was a minus tide just before sunrise on Plum Island in Massachusetts, so there was a lot of exposed sand to explore with the sanderlings (Calidris alba) as they searched for breakfast.
