Sleeping sandpipers
A dunlin (Calidris alpina) rests with one eye open in the middle of a circile of western sandpipers (Calidris mauria). This is one small scene from within a very large flock of shorebirds along Limantour Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, California.
